About Us

Founded in the early 1960s, First Born Basic School has been a cornerstone of early childhood education in St. Catherine for over six decades. Located at 11 Williams Lane on Old Harbour Road, our infant school has proudly served the community with the unwavering belief that 'Only The Best Is Good Enough' for our children. Born from humble beginnings within a church setting, First Born Basic School has grown to become a respected institution that has nurtured countless young minds. Under the dedicated leadership of Head Teacher Kathleen Dodd since 1999, the school has flourished and expanded beyond its original church premises to its own dedicated facility, thanks to the generous support of our community and successful fundraising efforts. Our school stands as a testament to resilience and growth, having weathered the test of time while consistently producing well-rounded students. With the guidance of our committed Board of Directors, led by Chairman Kemar Johnson, we continue to uphold our tradition of excellence in early childhood education. Today, First Born Basic School remains committed to providing a nurturing, faith-based environment where young children can develop academically, socially, and spiritually, preparing them for a bright future ahead.
